Family Abandons Dog At Shelter Just Because They Know They Have A Baby

Dogs consider family as something very sacred to them and will never leave their family. We need to see dogs as a member of the family, not as a disposable item to be thrown away.

The dog doesn’t know why he was abandoned by his family

A cute 3-year-old German Shepherd was dumped by his family just because they found out they were having a baby.

A dog named Rocco flutters like a leaf behind a kennel at Dallas Animal Services. The family left the dog there and he doesn’t know why.

Rocco’s sad eyes seemed to ask ‘why am I here?’ to anyone passing by. Shelters can be very stressful with all the noise, smells, and unfamiliar people.

A woman who visited the shelter noticed Rocco was shaking with fear, so she recorded the video and posted it online in the hope that someone would pick up the poor dog. Preethi Pillaipakkam, who was raised through DFW German Shepherd Rescue, saw the video and decided to immediately go to the shelter to rescue Rocco.

Pillaipakkam shared: “The shelter is definitely not an environment for dogs like Rocco. “He was very timid and scared when he got in the car, he even hid under the seat in the car and seemed very nervous.”

Rocco has lost weight, weighing only 60 pounds, he would normally weigh between 85 and 90 pounds. Pillaipakkam took the dog Rocco home to end his life in a place lacking many things.

At first, Rocco was very timid and confused as to where he was. Slowly, with the help of other German shepherd friends in the house, Rocco began to play with the toys.

“This is a big step for Rocco, as the dog was completely closed before that,” Pillaipakkam posted on an Instagram page dedicated to Rocco.

When Rocco realized he was safe, he became the shadow of his adoptive mother. When he is not following his adoptive mother closely, he will play with toys or balls that make noise.

The rescue will sort through all the apps and find the perfect permanent home for Rocco. Sweet little Rocco deserves a family that will always love and never abandon him.

His adoptive mother hopes that his story and Instagram page will inspire other dog lovers who want to adopt large breed dogs.

“The top reasons for adult dogs being abandoned often include a change in family circumstances, be it a move, a marriage, a divorce, a child or a family,” says Pillaipakkam. any such factor,” adds Pillaipakkam. “With a German Shepherd breed, and the prevalence of breed-based discrimination, it is increasingly difficult to find a place to live with these breeds. We hope to bring awareness to this.”
